3 Easy Website Makeover Tips

Your website, or as we also call it, your “digital storefront,” is the first place most people visit when looking for information about you. Let’s make it HGTV-worthy!

Here’s three easily implemented ideas.

Cover the Whole Screen

The most common computer screens are between 20 to 24 inches. Take a look at your website and then select images or videos that fill the entire width. Talk to your developer. Ask them to update your site for screens that have a 1920 x 1080 resolution. (Don’t worry, if this sounds foreign, your developer will know what that means.)

Take Down Old Information

This one is a Catch-22 because your current digital information helps with Search Engine Optimization (SEO). However, if you have an “Old” blog or an “Events” page that says “Coming Soon!” it makes your site look out of date. Every section of your website should serve a purpose. If you have an “Old” blog, consider changing the header title to read “Resources.” It makes it more forgivable to have older information displayed and you won’t lose your SEO.

Easy to Find Contact Information

If a prospect is on your website, they are digitally interviewing you. If you pass the online test, they want to contact you. Make it easy. Either have a “Contact Us” box on the bottom of your site and/or a clearly visible email address and phone number for site visitors.
