Bill Cosby dead of an apparent suicide at the age of 80 is a celebrity death hoax. There is no truth to a report that the comedian and former TV star was found dead from a suicide. Cosby was recently found guilty on charges that he drugged and molested Andrea Constand in 2004 at his home.

Actor and comedian Bill Cosby, who was recently involved in a sexual assault trial which was declared a mistrial , was found dead this morning of an apparent suicide in his Philadelphia, Pennsylvania home. He was 80.
His death has been reported as “a suicide due to asphyxia.” Philadelphia police confirmed that Cosby committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope. Cosby was discovered by his wife and left no suicide note.
“Bill Cosby passed away this morning,” his reps said in a statement. “He had been battling sexual assault accusations which left him in a state of depression. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.”
However, there is no truth to the above story. Of course, there is no legitimate news coverage of Cosby having passed away. And, a simple search of the Philadelphia Police Department‘s site does not show any results about Cosby’s alleged “death.” Cosby is currently on house arrest, as he awaits his next hearing, which will be scheduled in 60 to 90 days. Prison time is possible for Cosby but several factors remain.
Cosby could be sentenced to 30 years in prison. Legal experts said that the 80-year-old certainly will spend less time than that behind bars, and there’s a very real possibility that he may not ever be incarcerated.
Cosby’s lawyers have said that they will appeal, but that is a process that could take months, even years. The New York Times reported that Cosby faces up to 10 years for each of the three felonies he was convicted of, but the judge could decide that he could serve any sentence concurrently.

This is not the first time that Cosby has been the subject of a death hoax. Snopes reported on a previous one that was published by Viral Time Lapse, suggesting that Cosby had killed himself in reaction to the news that criminal sexual assault charges had been brought against him.
