Bloodborne Can Be Played on PC with ‘PS Now’

Fans of the franchises of FromSoftware have begged for years for the Playstation exclusive titles to be ported onto PC. Now those dreams have finally been made a reality – well, only partially.

Bloodborne, the horror-action classic title from 2014 is now playable on PC. Or to be more precise, it is now finally streamable on PC.

If you have a PS Now account, you can stream a wide variety of games from their online library which includes over 600 titles. Bloodborne, the Eldritch version to its cousins Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls, was recently added to this massive repository.

PS Now is an online streaming service that offers a free 7 day trial in which you can play Bloodborne and many other titles on your computer. The recommended download speed for such games is roughly 5mb per second.

The app is very easy to set-up and install and can be found at www.psnow.com. Officially, you will need to use a PS4 Dualshock 4 controller to play, as mouse and keyboard options are not compatible. Luckily, with the right tools such as Xinput, you can get other controllers mapped out just fine, like a PS3 controller.

After the 7 day period ends you will be forced to either cancel your membership or continue by paying through one of a few options. A one month subscription costs $19.99 and a year costs $99.99. It may seem pricey but the ability to essentially rent hundreds of games for 12 months for a hundred dollars? Actually seems like a pretty good offer if you plan on playing a lot of them.

Take note – this is not a PC port. You are not downloading Bloodborne onto your PC but are streaming it as it is being played from a PS4 console. No matter what your graphics card is you will still be playing this game in 1080p and 30fps as the game engine normally outputs. This isn’t the full experience complete with unlocked resolutions, frame rates and mods that we wanted like with the Dark Souls trilogy, but it’s something.

Many other great titles are also available to stream not just from the PS4 library but PS2 and PS3 as well. Great titles like Red Dead Redemption, Yakuza 5, Catherine, Resident Evil 4 and Shadow of the Colossus. The God of War franchise and the Grand Theft Auto series are all readily available to stream as well.

Bloodborne is a classic title and you should take advantage of this 7 day trial period to experience the game yourself if you haven’t already played it. It’s a challenging and esoteric adventure filled with memorable landscapes and enemies. This is a cool opportunity for gamers everywhere so make sure to take advantage of it.
