Growing up, Britton preferred picking flowers in the outfield to actually playing the game. He left sports behind and followed his intuition toward guitar and musical theater. Britton’s parents introduced him to ’70s and ’80s rock and folk music, and he joined a classic rock band when he was 13.
A year later, he won a songwriting contest that gave him the opportunity to record with renowned engineer John Davenport, whose credits include Robert Palmer’s album “Riptide” and Bruce Springsteen’s album “Born in the U.S.A.” Britton is now embarking on his solo career as a musical artist.
During the show, each of the Top 4 was given three opportunities to show off their vocal abilities. The singers performed one new solo cover, a special duet with their coach and an original single.
During and after the performances, fans had the opportunity to vote for their favorite singers via the official The Voice app. Once the votes have been tallied, the results will be presented towards the end of Tuesday night’s elimination show. The results will be largely dependent on viewers’ votes, but singers will also get extra bonus points for showings on the iTunes Top 10 list.

The four-time Emmy Award-winning “The Voice” returns with the strongest vocalists from across the country invited to compete in the blockbuster vocal competition show’s new season. Superstar singer-songwriter Clarkson makes her debut as a coach this season, with Season 12-winning coach and musical icon Keys taking a red chair alongside the show’s returning coaches, Levine and Shelton, and host Carson Daly.
In the final live performance phase of the competition, the Top 12 artists will compete each week against each other during a live broadcast. The television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. Three artists with the lowest number of votes will be eligible for the instant save. These artists will each perform a new song that represents why they should earn the save. America will then have the opportunity to save their favorite performer by tweeting out #VoiceSave along with the artist’s name. The singers with the lowest number of votes will be sent home each week. In the end, one will be named “The Voice” and will receive the grand prize of a recording contract.
