We talk a lot about creating remarkable experiences here on the AWeber blog.

Why? Because it represents everything we stand for as a company, and our mission to help customers grow their businesses and connect with audiences through email.

But in order to create remarkable experiences for our customers, we have to hire remarkable team members, too!

While we look for individuals who embody our core values, we strive to do the same and make an AWesome first impression.

So to create a remarkable experience for potential new hires, we hosted an event that would allow candidates to get the full AWeber experience during a bi-annual Open House.

A snapshot into #AWeberLife at our Open House

Our goal for the event was to create an experience that would leave attendees and future candidates with a positive, excited feeling about working here – and we wanted to do that by combining different event elements that would foster learning and networking with team members.

During the four-hour AWeber Open House, attendees were encouraged to participate in the following events:

Tech talks. Throughout the event, there were three different 30-minute tech talks led by AWeber team members, followed by Q&A. This gave attendees the opportunity to learn from fellow team members about topics like docker and ad hoc automation and have meaningful discussions around each one.

On-the-spot interviews. Everyone who registered for the Open House was encouraged to set up an on-site interview with an AWeber team member who could assess their skills, knowledge and experience.

Building tours. A visit to AWeber HQ wouldn’t be complete without touring our LEED-certified building! Attendees got a chance to view landmark areas including the places that each of our departments create remarkable experiences for customers, as well as the cafeteria and the game room.

Slide rides. Our double-twisty slides are kind of a big deal here in the office, and visitors were encouraged to give them a try.

Food tastings. We don’t mess around when it comes to food – especially since we have three on-site chefs! Between the homemade, wood-fired pizza, bruschetta, tuna on crostini and homemade desserts, everyone kept coming back for more.

Beer tastings. Event attendees also had an opportunity to taste and learn about various beers, wine and even mead brewed by one of AWeber’s very own team members.

Games. Everyone had a chance to participate in a bean bag toss or Nerf gun target practice. Our team is big on lawn games and the casual Nerf gun fight during the day, so why not have attendees partake in the fun as well? 🙂

Photo opps. AWeber’s masconaut, Commander AJ, was out and about at a photo station so guests could snap a photo with him to remember the night.

While these were the main events of the Open House, attendees and AWeber team members had many other opportunities throughout the night to network and connect in remarkable ways. Everyone had a blast, and we can’t wait to host the next event!
