Job description

Adclick Africa is looking for a proactive, passionate, and highly driven SEM expert to join our dynamic and growing digital media agency. The ideal candidate will be detailed oriented, process-driven, and take complete ownership of their tasks. They are expected to work closely with our clients and internal teams on a day to day basis in providing SEM expertise, recommendations, and execution of SEO/PPC campaigns.

This individual requires a strong business acumen coupled with ingenious digital marketing savvy to deliver real-world results to our awesome clients. They should know how to create, measure, continually improve and educate those around them.

We expect you to have a grasp of running successful search campaigns. This will include auditing client sites, defining information architecture and technical requirements, conducting keyword research, optimising site performance, improving organic search result listings, link building, implementing PPC programs (primarily Adwords), improving landing page performance, and reporting. Of course, this must all operate efficiently, within budget, and be measured and evaluated according to industry best practice. 

Responsibilities

  • Audits – research client and competitor sites for performance and optimization potential as a basis for program recommendations
  • Keyword research – development of keyword distribution sheet mapped to recommended site architecture
  • Digital Advertising Strategy – the ability to understand technical products quickly to strategize, develop, and execute ad campaigns from ideation to iteration. Emphasis on Google Ads with an understanding of paid social platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter).
  • Advertising Technology – solid understanding of digital advertising ecosystems and how they work to serve ads to intended targets to be able to optimize campaigns in challenging vertical markets properly
  • Search Ad Copywriting – write a concise, technical, and emotional search ad copy that aligns with user targeting and contains specific targeted keywords.
  • Manage a broad portfolio of search ads and conduct a/b tests to optimise for best performing ads.
  • CRO – Ability to analyze landing page performance and behaviour of users on website landing pages to identify areas of improvement and articulate conversion rate optimization hypothesis to clients
  • Copywriting – write compelling marketing copy that also contains a researched keyword profile or theme that balances call-to-action messaging with optimized terms for web pages, blogs, and assets.
  • Link building – develop and implement a link building strategy, including setting up Google notifications, research, outreach, tracking, and reporting.
  • Analytics – ongoing reporting and analysis of organic and paid search campaigns.
  • Client management – works directly with clients daily advising on strategy, implementation, status, and performance of search programs.
  • Agency – involved in new business prospecting and pitching; team management and collaboration; developing methodologies and firebrand ambassador.

Requirements

  • Three+years of tactical and strategic experience in SEO and PPC management, Google Adwords, G-Analytics and SEO Certification is a must
  • Degree in marketing or communications and Analytics, or related discipline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Show the ability to articulate clearly and effectively both in writing and in person
  • Working knowledge of bid/campaign management platforms
  • Experience with Google Analytics and other analytics platforms
  • Familiarity with other digital marketing such as Social Media, Programmatic Display, Video and Mobile
  • Demonstrate passion and thirst for knowledge of SEM and digital marketing in general
  • Show enthusiasm, commitment, creativity, and positive can-do attitude
  • Enjoy problem-solving and can adapt to new technologies and processes
  • Have strong organisational skills, being able to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Be a proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently while collaborating with other departments
  • Provide training and education for non-SEM team members and clients
  • Experienced in managing CPA, CPL, ROI and ROAS campaigns
