A Florida man stabbing friend for saying PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) is better than Fortnite is satirical news. There is no truth to a report that a heated debated between two friends over online games resulted in the one friend stabbing the other. If the story sounds wild and crazy that is because it is just that as it is false. It is nothing more than a joke.

Where did this satirical news originate? Huzlers published the satirical news article reporting that “Andrew Lee” stabbed his friend “David Owen” after the two fought over whether PUBG or Fortnite was the better videogame. You can read the satirical news below.

JACKSONVILLE – A florida man has been arrested for reportedly stabbing his friend for saying “PUBG is better than Fortnite”.

Andrew Lee, 19, reportedly stabbed his friend David Owen, 20, twice for saying PUBG was better than his favorite game—fortnite. David survived the attack and is currently being treated in the E.R. According to David, him and Andrew were playing Fortnite when David lost, he then said “This is why PUBG is better”, at which point they both began arguing before it ended by Andrew Stabbing David. “He still my homie” said David, “he just retarded, he can’t help it”

“Yeah well he didn’t have to say PUBG was better than Fortnite because it’s not” said Officer Bill Miller, “Dumbass had it coming if you ask me”.

However, there is no truth to the above story. What is the problem with the story to make it false? Of course, there is no legitimate news coverage of this absurd story. Additionally, there is no record of anything like it happening based upon a search of The Florida Times-Union, which is a major daily newspaper in Jacksonville, Fla. Finally and most importantly, Huzlers carries the following disclaimer:

Huzlers.com is the most infamous fauxtire & satire entertainment website in the world. If it’s trending on social media you’ll find it here!

Here are some examples of people sharing the satirical news on social media.

Fortnite is a co-op sandbox survival game developed by Epic Games and People Can Fly. At one point last month, 3.4 million people were playing the game at same time, likely making it “the biggest PC/console game in the world,” Epic Games said. The game has been played by more than 45 million people worldwide. “Fortnite: Battle Royale” is available on nearly everything, from PlayStation 4 to Xbox One to PC and Mac.

PUBG is a multiplayer online battle royale game developed and published by PUBG Corporation, a subsidiary of publisher Bluehole. In the game, up to one hundred players parachute onto an island and scavenge for weapons and equipment to kill others while avoiding getting killed themselves. The available safe area of the game’s map decreases in size over time, directing surviving players into tighter areas to force encounters. The last player or team standing wins the round.
