Two decades in the making, Four Peaks Brewing Co. has released its Golden Lager. The brewer has taken some of the world’s most celebrated lager yeast to deliver its own authentic, elegant flavor befitting the beer’s bright color. The end result is a satisfying and enjoyable lager to enjoy for the Super Bowl.
What is unique about the Golden Lager from Four Peaks? Golden Lager is fermented with a legendary yeast strain from Augustiner-Braü, a brewery in Munich. How did Four Peaks decide on this strain?
Four Peaks founder and head brewer Andy Ingram traveled to Germany and asked the locals about their favorite lager. Sounds like a fun job to do. What Ingram learned was that the locals preferred Augustiner’s helles. It was an easy decision as Ingram always wanted to make a lager with Augustiner yeast.
What then followed was a partnership between Four Peaks and AB-InBev where Ingram could acquire the yeast from the company’s library. Four Peaks is excited about it as the yeast strain gives its Golden Lager a clean, snappy flavor and alluring hint of fruitiness found in few other beers in the world.
The beer is light with great taste to support inclusion at any Super Bowl festivities. So, whether you are cheering the Philadelphia Eagles or New England Patriots, you will be happily rooting them on with a Golden Lager in your hand. It pours a great golden color with a good foamy head.

The limited-edition, black-and-gold 16-ounce cans feature the Suns logo on the front and the Four Peaks Golden Lager on the back. White-and-gold 16-ounce cans and 12-ounce bottles will be available beginning January 22. It is a year-round beer for Four Peaks.
