Ivanka Trump is once again facing criticism over a tweet she shared about a widely-recognized history month. On Thursday, the first daughter and senior adviser to the president celebrated Women’s History Month by reflecting on the empowerment of women throughout history. Her tweet, however, did not go over well on social media.
“As we celebrate #WomensHistoryMonth we reflect on women’s incredible contributions to our Nation,” Trump wrote Thursday. “We honor women’s legacy of achievements—from pioneering innovations & strengthening our communities to leading in business & politics. Women write America’s proud & thriving history.” The tweet, which received more than 7,000 likes, sparked backlash as Twitter users accused her of being hypocritical due to her own history with women’s rights.

Since taking on a formal role at the White House last year, Trump has faced backlash over her approach to numerous issues related to women’s rights, including her support of ending an Obama-era rule on equal pay data collection and her silence on healthcare issues.
Additionally, she has been criticized on social media for tweeting about the Time’s Up movement and removing “empowerment of women and girls” from her Twitter bio. President Donald Trump, who proclaimed Women’s History Month in a statement last month, has also been slammed over his attitude toward women and his sexist and misogynistic comments. Recently, Ivanka was also criticized for claiming it was “inappropriate” to ask about sexual misconduct allegations against her father.
