To enhance young graduates’ employability and bridge their transition to work, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and United Nations Volunteer Programme in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development are implementing the Uganda Graduate Volunteer Scheme.

The Scheme supports Government of Uganda’s Green Jobs Programme in revitalizing quality apprenticeship and volunteerism. The Scheme aims to address the challenges of unemployment and low labour productivity particularly among youth through providing graduates, with access to work-spaces to gain employability skills.

Young graduates will be placed as volunteers in institutions across various sectors for a period of 12 months.

This is a call for application for young Ugandan graduates to join the Uganda Graduate Volunteer Scheme.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Ugandan national;
  2. Aged 18 to 35 years on the date of application;
  3. Has a Masters or Bachelors degree or Diploma/Advanced Certificate from Business, Technical, Vocational Education and Training (BTVET) Institute;
  4. Has been out of school for a period of 0-4 years (maximum).

3. Position: Executive, Digital Marketing (BRAC Seed & Agro Enterprise)

Educational Requirements:
The candidates must have BBA/MBA/Honours/Masters in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Telemarketing or equivalent degree with a minimum 2nd class/ division or equivalent result in all academic examinations from any recognized university.
Experience Requirements:

5. Position: Country Representative

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Uphold, promote, and apply the Core Values and Mission of BRAC in the host country
Lead and supervise the program managers on planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the projects to ensure the effective and efficient execution of project deliverables and alignment with organizational strategic direction.
Contributes to program development and the writing of project proposals for the extension of existing and/or establishment of new programs in a host country
Ensure a relevant, timely and accurate flow of strategic, management and operational reports for the implementation of effective work according to program objectives and standards and to meet reporting standards of donors, partner offices and the headquarters
Supervise managers to ensure regular budget monitoring to be conducted for all programs/ projects
Ensure adequate systems are in place and followed, regarding program procurements, management and maintenance of project assets, regular inventories and similar activities
Represent BRAC to foreign and national governments, partners, donors and other stakeholders, and develop and maintain productive relationships and be BRAC’s representative and spokesperson to local and international media/ audience
Direct and manage staffing in the country while focusing on developing capabilities appropriate to the strategic and operational needs of projects/programs, needs of both the present and future within the country and create ownership among local staff
Ensure proper and transparent management of resources and reporting systems are established in the country in accordance with the policy and procedures and all regulatory requirements of BRAC, host country governments and donor’s policy
Visit projects to advise, build relationships, evaluate and inspect the funded projects and follow up on audit findings, risk register and monitoring report
Analyse continuous impact and effectiveness of existing programs on a national level and adapt accordingly
Liaise with Advisory Committee Members
Educational Requirements:
Masters in Development Studies or another relevant subject from any recognised university with a minimum second class/division or equivalent CGPA in all academic records.
Experience Requirements:

10+ years, including proven program management experience in one or more developing country setting

Position: Senior Manager, Internal Audit and Capacity Development

Job responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to the following:
To assist Head of Internal Audit in the development and implementation of Internal Audit Manual in BRAC International countries.
To assist Head of Internal Audit for Preparation of Annual Internal Audit Plan and monthly schedule for BI Countries and also assist Country Head of Internal Audit in implementation.

Arrange training for Audit Teams of BI Countries and assist Head of Internal Audit to conduct training as per annual training plan.
To monitor and ensure optimisation, effective and transparent use of staff resources at BRAC International Countries.
Get update with Standards of IIA, COSO framework, new changes in audit tools and techniques along with organisational requirements.
To assist for Piloting of e-Audit System and BIAMS Software.
Preparation of various MIS reports.
Educational Requirements:

Masters or Bachelor with concentration/major in Accounting/ Management/ Business Studies or other Commerce background.
CA Application Level/ACCA/CIA qualified or other equivalent degrees in the related field.
Experience Requirements:
At least five years working experience with two years managerial skill in the Audit/ Compliance/ Risk Management related field will be preferred.
