In advertising, the end goal is to earn more than how much you spend on it. Ever since the rise of the Internet, it has been more than just about spending huge for on a billboard or a tv commercial. Businesses based online have flourished and online marketing made its way through. Time, effort, and strategy is a key combination for turning blogging into a marketing tool.
For this episode of Meet the Bloggers, I proudly introduce to you the founder of Magnificent Marketing, David Reimherr. He and his team are always ahead of their game, being able to maximize the potential of blogging. 1.) Please tell us about yourself and how you got into blogging?
I am the founder of Magnificent Marketing which is a full service digital marketing agency. We got into blogging ourselves by buying into the idea of content marketing before the term was officially coined by Joe Pulizzi when we were working for a printing and publishing company. We are strong believers in marketing yourself via providing helpful and educational content and kept this belief with us once we started our company a little over a couple years ago. There are so many benefits of blogging/content marketing if you dedicate yourself to being consistent at putting out information designed to help and we are fully dedicated to this strategy moving forward.
2.) What is the focus of your blog and why did you choose that niche?
We are a digital marketing agency so our focus is to help keep other business owners and marketers up to speed on the ever changing marketing landscape. We chose this niche because it is an area that we are experts on and the subject matter is perfect for our current and potential customers.
3.) How are you currently monetizing your blog traffic?
The way we look at monetizing our blog traffic is thru leads. We do not offer advertising on our blog and will most likely never do so.
4.) What do you know now that you wish you knew when you first started blogging?
I wish we had been better at outreach (i.e. Reaching out to other bloggers and publishers letting them know about our awesome content in order to get it picked up by them). We are better at this now but wish we had been doing this the entire time.

7.) What advice would you have for someone who is just starting with their first blog?
To make sure you fully plan out your strategy before you ever write your first post. You first need to identify your audience; Who they are, where they live online, what topics would be of most interest to them and/or what pains and questions will you be able to solve for them. You then need to decide on how often you will be publishing and set up your editorial calendar so you can be sure to stick to your plan. Keyword research is going to be necessary upfront as well as it will not only help you with learning even more about your audience but you will also be able to identify your SEO (organic rankings) strategy by identifying the terms that you might be able to rank for. SEO must be top of mind when creating your strategy because content marketing/blogging/SEO all go hand in hand these days and having a focus on SEO will bring long term residual benefits.
8.) What’s the best advice or tip you’ve discovered about blogging since getting started?
Slowing down at the beginning and mapping and planning everything out. I can not emphasize enough the importance of this.
9.) If you only had $100 to start a new blog, how would you use it?
I would invest in keyword research. But do know that you need to plan on having some sort of content distribution budget, especially as you are just getting going.
