Meet Russell Lobo of RussLobo.com

People start blogging for different reasons. In saving up, having a regular job alone may not be enough. There will always be inevitable expenses and unforeseen ones that come along every now and then. Common options include setting up a small business or investing in stocks, real estate, currencies, and the like. However, there are many individuals who gained an additional source of income through blogging.

If a blog becomes successful enough, it could be a reliable source of passive income. This is exactly Russell Lobo’s case. And he’s our guest for the latest edition of series Meet the Bloggers. He was already well versed in online marketing, more specifically SEO, before venturing into blogging. Now, he focuses more on digital marketing and helps new and aspiring website owners by sharing his knowledge on niche site building. Read more about his story below, visit his blog, and pick-up his strategies and tips for successful blogging.

1.) Please tell us about yourself and how you got into blogging?

Russell Lobo

I started out with running an SEO agency in 2009. In 2015 I came across the concept of niche sites and earning passively. I then started niche sites monetized by Google Adsense and the Amazon affiliate program. Now 100% of my income comes in passively from my niche sites.

2.) What is the focus of your blog and why did you choose that niche?

My main sites are Taurus Knight , which is my Digital Marketing agency site and Russ Lobo where I share my insights on Niche site building.

3.) How are you currently monetizing your blog traffic?

I have different streams of income which include Adsense, Amazon affiliate, ClickBank Affiliate, and own products.

4.) What do you know now that you wish you knew when you first started blogging?

That it is not easy and you need to put in even more work that you would in a job. But you get financial independence.

5.) What are three blogs that you visit almost daily?

Niche Hacks, Ahrefs and Backlinko.

6.) Can you give us three recommended tools/services that you use with your blogging?

  1. Google Keyword Planner
  2. Ahrefs
  3. Google Console (Webmaster)

7.) What advice would you have for someone who is just starting with their first blog?

Focus on one niche. The shiny object syndrome is real in online earning. Catch one and stick to it until you cross four figures per month.

8.) What’s the best advice or tip you’ve discovered about blogging since getting started?

Write in-depth content and you will be rewarded with traffic due to Google BrainRank ranking your blog for a host of long tail keywords.

9.) If you only had $100 to start a new blog, how would you use it?

Buy a domain, get good hosting, write content and promote it.

10.) How can readers of the blog get in touch with you?

Readers can get in touch on Taurus Knight and Russ Lobo. I also have a 9,000+ Facebook group which they can join.
