SPRINGFIELD, Ill.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Dec 10, 2018–Molina Healthcare is supporting Taylorville Food Pantry with a $20,000 donation to help those impacted by the recent devastation caused by a string of tornadoes that affected Central Illinois communities. The donation will provide direct assistance to those who have suffered enormous losses by providing food, personal care items and household cleaning items.
In addition to the donation, Molina’s employees have been collecting non-perishable food items and other necessities at the Company’s Oak Brook and Springfield offices, which will be donated to local organizations helping people in need. Over the past week, 22 of Molina’s employee volunteers have dedicated more than 140 hours of their time to clean-up efforts in Taylorville and Hewittville through the Company’s volunteer program, Helping Hands.
“The Taylorville Food Pantry has been open for direct family and volunteer relief organization assistance immediately following the tornadoes,” said Amy Hagen, Co-coordinator of Taylorville Food Pantry. “Additionally, we have been serving as a donation clearing house for the community since the storm cleared and are working to restore and restock the refrigerators and pantries of the families who were impacted.
