As usual for OnePlus, the company has refreshed its 2019 flagship smartphone with a T upgrade. However, this time around the OnePlus 7T is more than just a refresh with very notable improvements. OnePlus 7T: T upgrade done well
90Hz AMOLED display, SD 855+, WARP 30T, triple cam…
The T upgrade for OnePlus has always been an incremental upgrade for its smartphones. But this year, things have changed. As in OnePlus updated the specs in the right places which mean things are going in the right direction. Starting off, we now have a slightly larger 6.55″ Full HD+ Fluid AMOLED display that’s having a 90Hz refresh rate. Gone are the 60Hz days for OnePlus. The display’s aspect ratio is 20:9 and is HDR10+ certified.
The OnePlus 7T is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset. The chipset is coupled to an Adreno 640 GPU. You only have an option of 8GB of RAM on either the 128GB or 256GB variant. That said, a MicroSD card is absent. The storage is of the fast UFS 3.0 variety.
As for biometrics, a fingerprint sensor is embedded into the Fluid AMOLED display of the OnePlus 7T. The device is equipped with stereo speakers.
T for Three
OnePlus has added a third camera in the 7T. For your info, the Oneplus 7 had a dual-camera setup. The third camera is a telephoto one. Anyways, the setup here is a primary 48MP (wide) (OIS) cam next to a 16MP (ultrawide) camera. The camera setup is concluded by the aforementioned telephoto cam that is 12MP in resolution.
Flip the device and at the front, we have a 16MP wide-angle selfie camera. Both front and rear cameras are able to record videos at a resolution of up to 1080p and 2160p respectively.
Battery, connectivity, Android version
A 3800mAh unit powers the OnePlus 7T. However, the main highlight here is the WARP Charge 30T. This is the same 30W fast charging as previous OnePlus devices, only now being 23% faster. How? OnePlus has improved the charging algorithm which allows for faster charging at the same rate. A USB-C port is utilized for charging and data transfers.
As far as connectivity is concerned, the OnePlus 7T comes with Dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 LE along with GPS for navigation and location services. A 3.5mm audio jack isn’t here.
Android 10 Pie-based Oxygen OS runs the OnePlus 7T.
Price, availability and colors options
The OnePlus 7T will be available for purchase starting 28th September for INR 38,000 and 40,000 for the 128GB and 256GB variants respectively. Meanwhile, in the US, the OnePlus 7T will be available on October 18 from $600. As far as paint jobs are concerned, the OnePlus 7T will come in beautiful Glacier Blue and Frosted Silver.
