Park Seo Joon Talks About Returning To Film And His Friendship With Choi Woo Shik

Park Seo Joon recently opened up about his return to film and his friendship with Choi Woo Shik.

On June 26, a press conference was held for the upcoming film “The Divine Fury.” The event was attended by director Kim Joo Hwan and lead stars Park Seo Joon, Ahn Sung Ki, and Woo Do Hwan.

During the press conference, Park Seo Joon was asked how he felt about returning to the big screen for the first time in two years since his film “Midnight Runners.” He replied, “I’m always nervous and excited about meeting moviegoers. I think this will be a film that shows a completely different side of me, so I’m curious to know how people will react to it.” He also talked about how both “Midnight Runners” and “The Divine Fury” are summer releases and said, “It’s an honor to be greeting moviegoers in the summer again. I hope people will feel refreshed seeing our film.”

Park Seo Joon also shared his special connection with close friend Choi Woo Shik. He made a cameo appearance in Bong Joon Ho’s “Parasite” to show support for Choi Woo Shik, and Choi Woo Shik will be returning the favor with a cameo appearance in “The Divine Fury.” Park Seo Joon explained, “The two of us have become inseparable. Actually, I was with him yesterday and the day before. We’ve really become like family. The two of us talked about how having more opportunities to work on projects together has been a positive influence on both of us. We’re so close that we want to keep being a positive influence on each other and we want to keep growing together.”

Co-star Ahn Sung Ki had nothing but good things to say about Park Seo Joon as he said, “I can say that I really enjoyed my work with Park Seo Joon. He’s young enough to be my son so I worried that he might find it difficult to approach me, but he was always friendly to me. I hope to work on more projects with him in the future.” Describing Park Seo Joon as a “ball of charm,” Ahn Sung Ki added, “He has this aura to him. At times, he’s cool but at other times, he’s mischievous. His charms aren’t static.”

“The Divine Fury” will tell the story of champion boxer Yong Hoo (played by Park Seo Joon) meeting Father Ahn (played by Ahn Sung Ki) and fighting against the forces of evil. The film will be released on July 31.
