Park Seo Joon Talks About The Difference Between Working With Male And Female Co-Stars

Park Seo Joon, one of the stars of the hit film “Midnight Runners,” recently sat down for an interview where he talked about his experiences on the film and more.

“Midnight Runners,” which has surpassed 5 million viewers at the box office, was directed by Kim Joo Hwan, with whom Park Seo Joon got along with from the start.

“The first time that Kang Ha Neul and I met the director, we played ‘Overwatch’ together,” he shared. “Instead of doing a run-of-the-mill script reading, we needed to become close to one another first. If you see the film, the chemistry between Kang Ha Neul and me is important, but it’s also important to have good chemistry between the actors and director. Now that I think about it, it’s funny. Three men sitting next to each other with headsets, meeting for the first time.”

Although “Midnight Runners” is an action comedy, Park Seo Joon made his name in rom-com dramas like “She Was Pretty” and “Fight My Way,” where he starred along big-name actresses like Hwang Jung Eum and Kim Ji Won.

“I think men act the same way when they meet with their friends, regardless of whether they’re middle-schoolers or fathers,” he said. “When I meet friends of the same sex, it’s like I go back to my childhood. This was why filming ‘Midnight Runners’ was so fun. No matter how I look at it, it’s inevitable that it’s more comfortable being with co-stars of the same sex. When you approach a co-worker of the opposite sex, you can’t help but feel conscious of what everyone around you is thinking. I might be innocent, but there are times when the people around me look at me wondering if I’m interested. So it was very comfortable to work with Kang Ha Neul.”
