Through personal stories of the people who were around him, this documentary film follows Martin Luther King Jr. during the last years of his life: from the passage of the Voting Rights Act in 1965 to his assassination in 1968. This period, which is largely left out of the history books, provides a clear window into King’s character, as a man with an unshakeable commitment to nonviolence in the face of an increasingly unstable country. Call for Student Artists: The Pocono Arts Council announces a call for student artists to participate in the 26th annual Juried Student Exhibition 2020. The exhibition is open to students in kindergarten through grade 12, in the four Monroe County school districts, as well as local private, charter, cyber or home schools, and will be held at 701 Main St., Suite 402, Stroudsburg. Drop off of artwork is scheduled from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday. The exhibition runs through Feb. 28. The student artists’ reception and awards ceremony will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
