Predict Conference 2019 Bringing Data To Life, 1st October

That time of the year is here again when Predict Conference 2019 takes place covering the world of big data including data science, data analytics and predictive technologies like machine learning and AI.

I chatted with Cronan McNamera, Founder and CEO of Creme Global who hosts Predict Conference here in Dublin, Ireland. He kindly answered some questions about the conference, which is once again promising to be a technical delight for anyone who works in the digital world.

When and where is it on?

Predict Conference takes places on Tuesday the 1st October in the RDS in Dublin, Ireland.

Predict Conference 2019

How many years has it been going?

Creme Global started Predict in 2015; it is now in its 5th year and has gone from strength to strength.

What was the inspiration to start it?

In 2015, Creme had reached its 10th birthday and we had been traveling all over the world attending conferences. We wanted to give something back to the Irish business and data science community by setting up a great conference here. Our goal was to demystify data science for the business community and showcase interesting success stories from diverse industry sectors around the world.

What exciting things can people look forward to?

The major themes at Predict this year are Health & Life Sciences, AI and Machine Learning along with Technology and Society (Sustainability/ Government/ Cities/ Privacy); so there are plenty of topical and exciting insights to look forward to. As well as a full schedule of talks, there is an all-day experience zone in operation where you can talk to leading practitioners and vendors.

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

Predict is your one opportunity a year to meet Prof. John Elder in Ireland. John is a world-class lecturer on Predictive Analytics, whom is based in the US. He is speaking at the conference, available at a huddle and during the breaks to talk. He is also holding a full-day workshop for people interested in getting into the real “nuts and bolts” of data science / predictive analytics.

Who will be speaking?

Here is our full schedule of speakers. I am really looking forward to some of our new speakers from companies like Ding. Wolfram Research Europe, IBM and GeoDirectory as well as our regular contributors from CeADAR, Accenture and Elder Research. Keep an eye out for a couple of talks from the Creme Global team aswell.

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

We have a number of great talks which kick off at 9am. Predict is a fun event with an active experience zone which includes: exhibitors, all-day coffee, lunch and evening drinks reception. There are also pre-event drinks on the 31st of September in Farrier & Draper starting from 6pm. All ticket holders are entitled to attend. Our advice is to get down to the RDS early and network!

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?

Tickets can be booked on the www.predictconference.com website. Ticket prices will increase in increments and will end up at €395 + VAT on the day (if there are any left) so book early!
