Removing Search Results Spam Not The Same As Suppressing Free Speech

I wanted to highlight a tweet from Bing search spam fighter, Frédéric Dubut, who basically said removing spam from the search results is not the same thing as suppressing free speech. He said if you do not remove spam “the entire product becomes completely unusable.”

This tweet brings back some fun memories. Yea, he is referencing Paul Haahr, who has been working on search at Google for longer than I have been writing about SEO, which is a long time – over 17 years.

If you are interested in this conversion that Frédéric Dubut I believe was referencing, you can see my coverage of that from May 2018.
