For some, security is not the most thrilling of subjects, but at Confirmit, we obsess over it. That’s why we are extremely pleased to be able to say that Confirmit has, once again, successfully completed a “System and Organization Controls” – SOC 2 Type II examination for our Confirmit Horizons SaaS and Cloud offerings.
If you’re not familiar with this standard, in summary it validates Confirmit’s strong commitment to the security, confidentiality and availability of the Confirmit Horizons platform and related activities.
The globally-recognized SSAE18 / SOC 2 Type II report provides Confirmit’s clients, teams and partners with assurance that we have implemented effective controls for the operation of the Confirmit Horizons platform. During the examination, independent auditors examined our:
- Policies and that teams are aware of them and implement them consistently
- Procedures and that they are effective and we follow them consistently
- Documentation and it is accurate and updated regularly
- Technical controls are effective – always
- Updates to all of the above are accurate and frequent
You will probably notice that consistency is a big theme here. It has to be. All the best policies, procedures and documents in the world are useless if they’re only implemented in a sporadic manner. This means we have invested significant time and effort to make sure that we follow every process, every time.
SOC2 Type II is one of the most stringent security standard available and achieving it is a testament to our global team’s commitment to ensuring that we provide the very best service to our clients. We also demand the best from our partners too, so Rackspace and Azure, our SaaS and Cloud hosting providers, are SOC2 Type II audited as well. It is safe to say that Confirmit provides one of the most well-documented security offerings in our industry.
Of course, like all standards of this nature, it is not a “one and done” approach. Technology is constantly changing, standards revising, and threats evolving, so we never stand still nor stop working hard to ensure we maintain our incredibly high security. Maintaining our SOC 2 compliance requires continual oversight of our security policies, processes, and procedures, driving ongoing improvements and enhancements throughout of our organization.
