Song Hye Kyo Promotes Hangul Guidebooks with Professor Seo Donating 10,000 Copies to Japanese Village : Entertainment : Business Times


Actress Song Hye Kyo continued to promote Hangul(Korean Alphabet) with Seo Kyung-deok, a professor of Sungshin Women’s University.

Professor Seo said on his SNS on October 9, “We will donate Hangul Guidebook to Utoro Village in Japan to commemorate the Day of Hangul.”

The professor added, “We are working together to donate Hangul Guide to Korean historical sites around the world with actress Song Hye Kyo.” “In particular, this year is a historic year that marks the 100th anniversary of the March First Movement and establishment of the provisional government of Korea. It is meaningful to donate the guide books to new places. However, we’ve been steadily focused on sending more books to those where we have donated to fill them fully,” said Professor Seo. 

“We will donate another 10,000 copies to Utoro Village in Japan on the Day of Hangul as part of the project to refill historical places starting from Yun Bong-gil Memorial Hall in Shanghai, China. “

He also spoke of what the related official said after refilling after donating to Yun Bong Gil Memorial in Shanghai. The official said, “Thanks to both of you, the number of Korean visitors has increased, and not only Korean but also Chinese guidebooks have been included, so it was a good opportunity to let the Chinese people around us know more about Yun’s achievements.”

Professor Seo said, “It was good news, and Song Hye Kyo was very happy. I hope that the 10,000 copies of the guide were donated will help Utoro village not be forgotten and receive more attention from Korea and Japan.” 

In addition, Prof. Seo said, “We will make more efforts to donate the Hangul guide in more places in the future. In a recent call with Song Hye-kyo, we made a promise to do our best to donate all the Hangul guides to the Korean independence movement sites around the world, even if it takes a long time. Please support us a lot.”

Song Hye-kyo and Professor Seo have been working together for eight years to donate Korean guidebooks to 17 sites of Korea independence movements around the world. They have been providing Hangul guides to famous museums around the world, including the New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Toronto Museum.
