Universal Studios theme parks will transport visitors to the scary Upside Down as it teams up with Netflix’s Stranger Things for this fall’s edition of Halloween Horror Nights.
The 2018 maze theme, to be announced Tuesday by Universal Studios, is based on Season 1 and will include the predatory Demogorgon and the Upside Down, an alternate dimension, along with characters and locations from Hawkins, Ind., including Hawkins National Laboratory and the Byers home. Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer and executive producer Shawn Levy are collaborating on the project.
Horror Nights opens Sept. 14 at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, and Sept. 28 at Universal Studios Singapore. Universal Studios previously featured AMC’s The Walking Dead in the Halloween spectacular, before creating a permanent attraction at the Hollywood theme park based on the hit series, which has seen ratings declines.
