The University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law is currently seeking a Web Marketing Manager. The selected candidate will play a vital role in supporting the strategic digital marketing efforts of the Marketing & Communications team by delivering a best-in-class web experience for our users. The Web Marketing Manager will be responsible for managing the user experience, implementing web design and information architecture changes, and maintaining content to support accurate and engaging communications on the website. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and apply your experience to drive projects that are critical to the success of our institution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Work with Marketing & Communications team on the development and implementation of strategies for website improvements and enhancements, search engine optimization, content management, and CRM.
  • Assess, improve, and manage the website’s information architecture to streamline the user experience and ensure content and functionality are meeting the needs of the institution and its audiences. Support the development and implementation of new information architecture as needed and to incorporate new programs and initiatives into the site.
  • Collaborate across the organization to clearly define audiences, objectives, and requirements for the website and other digital projects. Recommend and execute on web strategies and enhancements to meet goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring all website content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with branding, design and editorial standards.
  • Establish systems and processes for stakeholders to make updates and contributions to the website and provide training materials, process documentation, and other support as needed.
  • Find, diagnose, and fix content problems, including broken links, typographical errors, and formatting inconsistencies. Ensure page layouts, content priority, navigation, and design is consistent across the website.
  • Conduct regular website audits and reports to analyze site performance and inform decisions regarding website enhancements, strategic marketing direction, degree segmentation, and customer targeting. Continuously optimize to maximize performance.
  • Build web pages, test new features, and collaborate with designers and developers to implement website enhancements and fixes.
  • Plan, coordinate, and perform website administration tasks and maintenance, and manage day-to-day web operations.
  • Support the editorial and quality assurance process and ensure brand messaging and standards are being upheld.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field.

EXPERIENCE: 5 years of web marketing, digital marketing, or similar experience.

PREFERRED: Experience with Mailchimp, iContact, or other email marketing platforms and experience is preferred. Familiarity with HTML, ASP, and CSS preferred. Experience with Hubspot or other CRM platforms desired.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data to drive strategy
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong ability to influence and work cross-functionally
  • Ability to manage vendors/consultants on specific projects as needed.
  • Readily adapts and innovates based on new learnings, insights and results
  • Proven track record working on web sites and content management systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Position requires a proactive individual who collaborates well and has a track record of working independently, managing, and prioritizing multiple projects.
  • Innovative thinker that moves fast with a test & learn mindset
  • Proven experience with website best practices and technologies including Content Management Systems (TerminalFour), Google Analytics, SEMRush/ScreamingFrog (or similar), Google Tag Manager, SEO/SEM, HotJar, Jira, etc
