Google Makes Easier Encryption Process for Cheap Phones and Smart Devices

Encryption plays an important role in securing one’s package. However, it adds complexity to the device or service. Moreover, the excessive data consumption is highly impractical on low-end and small devices. This is why Google wants to replace its encryption with a more efficient method – Adiantum.

Encryption involves reversible transformation of one block of data into another. Such transformation is complicated as it needs extensive mathematical calculation to constantly read and write data. The process of encryption is not so difficult for a text message. Although, it’s very hard while storing and retrieving megabytes in videos or images.

Future Low-power Devices to Offer Better Security without Having Expensive Components

Nowadays, a wide range of modern gadgets integrate a special chip for performing most common processes and algorithms of encryption. However, many older, cheaper, and tiny smart gadgets lack the room for fitting such chips on their boards. Furthermore, such old devices are also preventing users from playing latest games with modern cryptographic processes. These devices can encrypt data which usually takes longer time for certain apps to work that results in high consumption of battery power.

To cater such challenges in low-power phones, Google introduces Adiantum, a special method of encryption. This process neither decreases nor increases the payload’s size, maintaining the quantum of transmitting bytes. Although, skepticism from security engineers might come in the way of this latest encryption techniques. However, the Adiantum’s engineering ensures the highest security.  Google asked the low-price phone users to not to expect any instant gains, but ensures better security in the future.
