Northwest CT Chamber of Commerce: Learn at Lunch

Published

The Chamber is pleased to be offering three Learn at Lunch workshops during the months of August and September.

“A New Era in Digital Marketing: On-Line Visibility”, new for 2019 – at 11:30 a.m. August 28.

You want prospects to find your business online. How do you make yourself visible among all of the other competitors? In this Learn at Lunch, we’ll explore all the opportunities, and give you ideas about where to focus your energy.

Lance Leifert, CEO of Conquest, a leader in the full-service digital marketing industry, will share details on: the main components to on-line visibility, how search engine optimization, or SEO, works, whether or not paid search is right for you, and how search works with Google.

“Business and Technology in 2020: Are You Prepared?” – at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 11.

Technology is a critical component of most businesses. As technology advances, business owners and managers are finding it increasingly difficult to not only keep up with the changes, but to also leverage these technologies to enable them to better support their customers, employees and other stakeholders.

Trying to keep up with technology, cybersecurity, regulation, the workforce, and the speed of change in today’s business environment can be a daunting task. This Learn at Lunch, presented by Ed Davis, CEO of Systems Support Group, Inc., will be a round table discussion in which all of these topics will be discussed. Ed’s 40 years of experience helping businesses of various sizes implement and leverage many waves of technology changes gives him a unique perspective on this subject. Be sure to sign up for this Learn at Lunch if you want to learn more about leveraging new technologies to benefit your business.

“How to Make Your Business or Organization ‘Famous’ Through Free Publicity” – at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 19.

Barbara Branagan-Mitchell, owner of Branagan Communications Consultants LLC, public relations, publicity placement, marketing communications and writing and editing agency for 26 years, will provide insights into how to place “awareness-building” news articles, event listings and P.S.A.s, public service announcements, with newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations to reach your company or organization’s target audiences.

An integral part of a successful branding and marketing campaign, Branagan-Mitchell will share ways to “feed” newsworthy publicity-generating materials to editors, reporters and producers of print and broadcast media outlets to help build, and maintain, ‘awareness’ of your company or organization. PR and publicity placement can be easily, and very affordably, ‘married’ with social media, advertising and digital marketing campaigns.

Limited seating is available for each workshop. The fee for Chamber members is $10 per person and includes lunch. Workshops will be held at the Chamber office and lunch will be served. To make a reservation, please call the Chamber at 860-482-6586 or visit the Chamber website at nwctchamberofcommerce.org/calendar.
