Sky internet down: Why is Sky internet not working – What is wrong with Sky broadband?


Sky broadband internet is experiencing a widespread outage today (Thursday, September 5). Users are reportedly unable to access the internet, with reports it is linked to the Yahoo issue. Yahoo is currently experiencing a global outage, which a BT spokesperson told Express.co.uk it also affected Sky customers.

The spokesperson said: “Yahoo is currently experiencing a global outage, which means many of our customers are unable to access their BT Yahoo email accounts.

“Yahoo is working to fix the issue as quickly as possible, we’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

The email issues are thought to have started at early this morning, with scores of customers complaining of being unable to access the internet.

DownDetector, a site monitoring outages across the internet, shows numerous of reports across the UK.

The website also published a BT outage map, showing recent reports mostly originating from B Birmingham, Glasgow, Nottingham, Manchester, London and Liverpool

Twitter user DJ wrote: “No WiFi since around midnight! Deeside, N Wales”

Sky internet customer James commented: “Went down around noon on the 3rd, still not back yet. I was told between 48hrs and 5 days for a BT engineer to fix it!”

Express.co.uk has contacted Sky for a comment.
